Cynthia L. Schneider
CYNTHIA L. SCHNEIDER was the lead of the research and evaluation team at the Charles A. Dana Center, at The University of Texas at Austin, from 2009 to 2013. She currently consults on mathematics education research and evaluation as well as professional development. While at UT-Austin, she participated in several qualitative studies, including Opening Doors: Promising Lessons from Five Texas High Schools, the Longitudinal Evaluation of School Change and Performance, the Local Systemic Change grant with Austin ISD, and the Department of Education's national study, conducted by the Dana Center, on high-performing high-poverty middle schools. Dr. Schneider is the government-relations representative of the Texas Council of Teachers of Mathematics (TCTM). She is the editor of Texas Mathematics Teacher, a biannual publication of TCTM, with over 5,000 readers. Dr. Schneider taught mathematics at Southwest Texas State University, Austin Community College, and Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
